- Accumulator
- A single bet that combines multiple selections; all of them must win for you to get a payout.
- American Odds
- Odds expressed as a positive or negative number, showing how much you win on a $100 bet or how much you need to stake to win $100.
- Arbitrage
- Taking advantage of differing odds across bookmakers to place bets on all outcomes and secure a guaranteed profit.
- Asian Handicap
- A spread that gives one team a half-goal or whole-goal advantage to make the odds more even.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for making bets.
- Bookmaker
- A company or person that sets odds and accepts bets on sporting events.
- BTTS
- Short for Both Teams To Score, this bet wins if each side scores at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- The option to settle a bet before the event ends, letting you lock in a profit or cut your losses.
- Closing Line
- The final odds offered just before a betting market closes for a match.
- Decimal Odds
- A way to express odds as a single number that includes your stake; multiply your stake by the decimal to see total return.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (win, draw, or loss) in a single match.
- Draw No Bet
- A wager where you pick a winner; if the game ends in a draw, your stake is refunded.
- Fractional Odds
- Odds shown as a fraction, indicating how much profit you'll make relative to your stake.
- Hedge
- Placing an opposite bet to reduce risk or guarantee a profit on an existing wager.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets after the match has started, with odds that change as the game unfolds.
- Market Movement
- Changes in odds caused by heavy betting activity or new information about a team.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds shown as a price for each side.
- Over/Under
- A wager on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Payout
- The total amount you receive when a bet wins, including your original stake plus any profit.
- Pre-Match
- Betting on a game before it begins, based on the fixed odds offered at that time.
- Single Bet
- A straightforward wager on one outcome only, with no other selections linked to it.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a single bet.
- Steam
- A rapid, sizable shift in odds when a large amount of money is wagered on one side.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving you an expected edge.
- Vigorish
- The built-in commission that bookmakers charge, included in the odds so they make a profit regardless of the result.
